Grand Mother was extremely over joyed to see me, after a very long time staying in Michigan. She had already lost her sight. That was very sad to see. My Grand Parents lived at this home, and died without ever having any running water. This is very significant to note, because it places a tangible timeline to how long this problem has existed in our country! Since my Grand Parents lived till the age of 100 yrs, we then can absolutely know that the problem has existed for more than 100yrs to date! By the way, my Grand Parents died in 1995.
It is my hope that by learning about my beginnings, you will then understand what the kids in Uganda are going through. I lived at this home during my two years in high school. Everything you see in the video, is exactly how it was when i lived here. I was saddened to see the bed i used to sleep in, and the grains i used to eat.
But above all, I would love to provide a water well at this home, unfortunately my Grand Parents didn’t live to use it. It is also my plan to provide several water wells for this village.
