SOCIAL STUDIES – DIVERSITY – FHP SCH – USA.

Diversity and social studies life changing moments with some extremely brilliant students from Forest Hills Public Schools- Central Woodlands.  Many thanks to Miss Black for inviting me to her social studies class, where I shared about my personal life story from growing up experiences in my native Uganda. I related to the students how the life challenges I faced growing up are still the same challenges our youth go through today.  As the Director of Global Youth, I try to demonstrate how I know first hand, the social and economic struggles that stand in the way of these young student’s path to a bright future.

It was an educational presentation about the people and culture of Uganda. The students learnt about how other students in Africa live in extreme poverty and luck clean drinking water and adequate health care. When they heard about the fact that the kids in Africa may walk up to seven miles per day, to fetch water, and walk to school, they wanted to know how they could help! God bless their hearts! They volunteered to fundraise and made a substantial contribution towards our school water well fund.

A great thanks to the two social studies teachers who gave us the opportunity to connect with these awesome students. And we are very grateful for the spirit of compassion and benevolence which they demonstrated in their call to action, to help other students get clean drinking water.
